Born in Sochi, Russia, Alfiya Glow began her violin studies at the age of five and after just seven months, had her first performance as a solo violinist with the Sochi Symphony Orchestra. Even at such a young age, she knew that music would be her future.
At the age of fifteen, Alfiya was one of few young musicians accepted to study at the prestigious Secondary Special Music School – College and moved over twelve hundred miles, on her own, to the city of Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia. During her time at the college and later at the Kazan State Conservatory, Alfiya won numerous international and national violin competitions and toured extensively throughout Russia and Europe as concertmistress of the Chamber Student Orchestra.
Leaving home at such an early age for her violin studies not only helped to foster Alfiya’s professionalism in the music world but also a strong and independent spirit. At the age of twenty, she was ready for the next great opportunity in life and applied to music schools for an undergraduate degree in the United States. In 2009, Alfiya was accepted into Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance in Philadelphia, and received a full scholarship awarded only to musicians of extraordinary ability.
That same year, Alfiya was invited to be a distinguished member of the internationally celebrated iPalpiti Artists International Orchestra at its annual Festival of International Laureates. In subsequent years as a member of this ensemble, she performed on both U.S. coasts in such renowned concert venues as the Lincoln Center (New York City), the Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts (Philadelphia), to name a few.
In addition to her continued classical music education and working towards a Masters degree in the United States, Alfiya had the occasion to meet and work with two important producers in the popular music industry. Larry Gold, the string arranger for Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, and Lana Del Rey; and Kenny Lloyd, a sound engineer for Alicia Keys, Eminem and other artists. Her collaborations with these producers on several major records for artists such as R. Kelly, Lana Del Rey, and Boyz II Men, encouraged an already strong interest and passion for the musical genres of pop, hip-hop, and EDM.
After receiving her Master of Music Performance degree from Temple University, Alfiya decided to drastically change her path in life and began to pursue a career in what she discovered was her true musical passion: electronic dance music. Combining her talents as a DJ, music producer, and electric violinist, she has since released a number of original EDM house music tracks, mashup and bootleg packs, and remixes that have all been well received. Alfiya also runs a podcast called Haus Glow, broadcasting episodes that feature her favorite house tracks in EDM as well her own latest musical projects.
Alfiya’s tracks and arrangements have been featured in leading online electronic dance music magazines EDM Boutique, EDM Lead, and Raver Rafting, which in September of 2015, named her original mix “Music Box” a “Powerful Pick of the Week”.
Alfiya is unique in her ability to unite her love of EDM tracks with her experience in other musical genres and instrumentation. She thoughtfully and carefully creates EDM mixes that not only have beats that exhilarate the listener but integrate surprising emotional melodies that stir the heart and soul. This spring 2017 Alfiya is releasing a new remix pack that features NYC artist Kenny Lloyd. This pack includes 3 throwback remixes of alternative rock bands – Linking Park, Crazy Town, Papa Roach.
Along with her work in creating progressive EDM music, Alfiya is in great demand as a DJ, electric violinist, and music producer, and has opened for international headlining artists such as Lisa Lashes, The Disco Fries, Michael Brun, Marcus Schossow, Sebjak, Kenneth G, Indian Summer, W&W, and Bassjackers. Audiences can see her DJ and play at numerous clubs in New York City, Atlantic City, Philadelphia, Boston and other cities along the East Coast. Alfiya performed at several huge shows on the national Hyperglow Tour: “America’s Largest Touring EDM Glow Experience”.
This summer 2017 Alfiya will be performing at Electric Forest Festival of Insomniac Events. There is no doubt that Alfiya Glow’s incredible talent and tremendous passion thrills audiences and will continue to carry her into further success in her musical career.
